Arthur Carl II
Chef Arthur Carl II joined IHOP’s culinary team in late 2022 as Vice President of Culinary and is a key leader in driving the recent evolution of the iconic IHOP menu and continuing to bring a smile to guests’ faces with craveable additions across all dayparts. Carl brings more than 30 years of experience within the food and beverage industry, serving in several roles for hospitality groups, restaurants, and breweries.
In his latest role, Carl has already spearheaded the innovation and launch of IHOP’s largest menu evolution to-date in April 2023. Items on this menu cater to both the indulgent and lighter side of cravings, offering guests the opportunity to taste what IHOP has to offer on both sides. At IHOP, all meals are made on the griddle from scratch, with quality ingredients including fresh eggs, blueberries, peppers, and more, which is something that Carl is adamant about continuing in his role.
Throughout Carl’s career he has worked with each of his teams to craft dishes that satisfy guests’ needs. This position requires skills across culinary innovation, franchised restaurants, and product sourcing, all of which he has significant and successful experience in. Menu innovation at IHOP never stops, and Carl and his Culinary team are constantly inspired to create new dishes, reimagine classic IHOP staples, and bring back guest-favorites. With that in mind, Carl innovates IHOP menus to deliver on what guests are craving right now with the goal of spreading more joy to more guests every day.
